Paint Brush Strokes That Tell An Art Story

These are prints from an original paint series I tagged brush strokes, because of the movement of the brush on paper. The strokes where carried out in quick successions with a flat medium sized brush.

My paint medium of choice was acrylic and the surface was recycled cake board paper that has a smooth off white surface.

I used this particular surface because it adds a certain glow or gloss effect to paintings, its also inexpensive and it is easy to manipulate color on it.

Each painting in this series tells a story. Inspiration for each of them, came from events around me. Events that we can somehow relate to personally, or one that affect others. For instance the painting of...

             "The Boy"
            2014,Print 90 cm x 86 cm

is one of sadness, of a boy wishing that life is better than what he is experiencing now.

             "The Girl"
             2014;Print 90 cm x 86 cm

is one of ridiculous, envy hence the all green facade.

            "The Garden"
            2014;Print 90 cm x 86 cm

is an aerial view of a garden, flying over Scotland.

                       "The Nude"
             2014,acrylic on paper 90 cm x 86 cm

is simply a half nude painting of a woman. I hope you enjoy viewing them.

              "The Swirl"
2014, acrylic on board; 90 cm x 86 cm

is the experience of been in one of those amusement park/theme park rides that just leaves us seeing double and a bit confused;
    ................Enjoy
