Artmiabo International Art Festival AMIAF, 2023 NEWS   We are delighted to host the Lagos AfroFunk Collective (formerly Ikenga) a collective of veterans of some of Africa's greatest bands, at this years Artmiabo International Art Festival, we are glad that a few of them will be present and performing to our delight. This is an Art performance in line with the 'Art of Afrobeats' theme of the festival. The Significance of this collective of music veterans is important to the Afrobeats culture, as each member is a veteran of the best Afrobeats music bands that existed in the continent. I happen to be a huge fan....and can't wait for his exhibit as he takes us down memory lane. As an event of visual arts contents, AMIAF, in its 2023 edition is articulating fine art's significance to Afrobeats with the inclusion of painter, Lemi Ghariokwu. As an artist, Ghariokwu is one of the most iconic names in the history of the Afrobeat genre. Ghariokwu had the rare privilege of creating, in fine art, over 20 album designs for late Afrobeat founder, Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Based on the link between his art and Afrobeat music, Ghariokwu, in specific terms explained the role of fine art in Afrobeat music.
