Artmiabo International Art Festival AMIAF, 2023 NEWS
We are delighted to host the Lagos AfroFunk Collective (formerly Ikenga) a collective of veterans of some of Africa's greatest bands, at this years Artmiabo International Art Festival, we are glad that a few of them will be present and performing to our delight.
This is an Art performance in line with the
'Art of Afrobeats' theme of the festival.
The Significance of this collective of music veterans is important to the Afrobeats culture, as each member is a veteran of the best Afrobeats music bands that existed in the continent.
Take a look at the full band collective- Phil Dawson - Guitar (ex- Osibisa, Hugh Masekela, Baba Maal, Dele Sosimi, Tony Allen); Maurizio Ravalico (ex- Jamiroquai, Dele Sosimi, Collocutor etc), Oscar Elimbi (Ex-Manu Dibango, Tony Allen, Damon Albarn, Bongos Ikwue, Onyeka Onwenu etc), Eddie Offeyi (Ex-Gold-train, Headzfunk, Fatai Rolling Dollar etc);
Leo Adjebro (ex-Fela Egypt 80, Tony Allen, Bongos Ikwue etc); Samson Olawale (ex=John Scofield, Carlos Santana, Lagbaja, Femi Kuti); Sol Umoh (ex-E.C.Arinze, Gold-train, Abraka 7 etc), Ed Keazor (ex-Funkees, Ayetoro, Dele Sosimi Afrobeat etc
And the band veterans performing at the festival will consists of
Ed keazor and many others. They will perform highlife hits, afro funk, afro jazz, afro pop, music that takes us on a
'Journey of the Beats' back to the time afrobeats began.
Their performance will be laced with storytelling, afrobeats film screening, awards and recognition of Music stars, DJs, Radio personalities, Fine artists, Artists managers and Video content creators, that have contributed and paved the way for present day Afrobeats culture.... we can't wait!
