Textile Abstract Art 'Tears That Keep Flowing' | Artmiabo

Tears That Keep Flowing  Abstract Art and Art Storytelling come hand in hand, I tell stories that I have seen happen, read about or have had a similar experience through abstract Art.  To me it really doesn't matter much what style or expression I use to interpret my stories, I use what is available to me and try to make the best out out it. Hence the use of textiles for this Art project. Fabric cut offs for me, its just like a dog and a bone. I love, to collect fabrics samples and cut offs.  My ears are fastened to the ground, for any information on fabric cutoffs.  My last batch of textiles, came from a charity store , down the road. I took advantage, of the fact that I'm known there already, to choose the best, right inside the managers store room/office.           I descended on brocade , cotton , poly cotton, jersey and good linen textile cut offs with great pleasure! This time around I was going to create c...

Contemporary Abstract to Art to Shop by Miabo Enyadike

Abstract Geometric Painting  Structure is an abstract painting of shapes joined together that seem to float on top of colors. It is a geometric expressionism abstract ink art made on paperboard. I make most of my art on paper.  This was inspired by some of the works of Kandinsky a famous 20th century artist who created geometric abstract paintings.  The reason this artwork is called structure is the shapes might seem like they are afloat, instead they are kept firmly together in place to hold each other from tumbling, creating a geometric structure that relies on each component to keep it together. This artwork is best curated in a sitting room or office space with monochrome furnishing , it elevates the room into a sophisticated space.                                        💖💖💖                   ...

African Art- A Mother and Child: Abstract Art Painting | Artmiabo

Existential Phenomenon of Love Between a Mother and Child I have a notion that visual idea abstractly told is a hallmark of visual intelligence.  My love for abstract expressionism is partly dependent on the liberty such technique of visual expression gives me to tell a story, gives the artwork to morph into an organism with multiple sensory effects, and inspires the audience to relate to artworks in a manner that appeals to them. Mother and Child is a story, albeit visually told.  The ink on the cardboard piece embodies the bond between Mother and Child. Stories like this resonate with everyone. It has a universal appeal, such that being told through the ages, by scholars, musicians, movies, and daily encounters, has not, for once, diminished its hold on the human psyche.  To have painted this with full details I.e eyes, nose, etc would have disrupted the flow of its universal appeal, and limited what is larger than a race.  The painting is a product of my th...

Nigerian Art - The Unique Artistry of Ighere Richard Dickson by Artmiabo

Meet Richard Dickson: A Journey of Art, Passion, and Enduring Creativity Ighere Richard Dickson Over 20 years ago, I had the privilege of meeting Richard Dickson in my hometown of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. It was an ordinary afternoon in my art gallery when he walked in, turning it into a moment I'll never forget.  My staff had informed me the day before that Richard had traveled all the way from Ibadan a really far state in western Nigeria to my state in Southern Nigeria, to meet me after someone recommended my gallery.  Artist Richard Dickson Although asked to leave his works behind to avoid carrying them around, Richard made a lasting impression even before we met. My team knew me well enough to predict that I would appreciate his artistry. When Richard finally walked into my gallery, it felt like reconnecting with an old friend. Fast forward to 2007, I was honored to recommend him to Terra Kulture, Nigeria's renowned art institute, for a Ford Foundation award and gran...
