Artmiabo International Art Festival AMIAF 2024 Awardees

We gladly announce next year's Artmiabo International Art Festival AMIAF, 2024 Awardees...Next year's theme is titled:

'The Sculptors Odyssey' a journey very sculptor embarks on to create masterpieces that outlive the idea or inspiration, that made them embark on this tedious and sometimes herculean feats.
Like Michelangelo before them we can only imagine their 'Odysseys' and the 'Why' ?
And so it pleases AMIAF to recognize them in a way that is fitting as contributors to the Sculptors Story especially here in Africa.

1. Prof. Ben Enwonwu-Posthumous Award: A distinguished and Pioneer Artist/Sculptor, whose 'Art Odyssey' paved the way for millions of Nigerian Artists home and abroad through his social political sculptures that reflects on his own 'Sculptors Odyssey'.

The Late Prof. Enwonwu made us dream big and he showed us in clear terms the possibilities out there as a Nigerian Artist.

2. Dr Adeola Balogun: A globally recognized multimedia artist who has made substantial contributions as both a sculptor and mentor, particularly in the realm of education.

3. Mr Dotun Popoola: An Inspiring multimedia artist and sculptor, this young talent is dedicated to creating inspirational sculptural pieces that center around environmental themes. Internationally recognized for his ability to craft sculptures with a keen focus on environmental sustainability, he is renowned for his unique approach in utilizing found and discarded objects in his personal sculptor's odyssey. 4. Ms Adebisi Adebayo : A wood sculptor, Adebisi came to our attention through Facebook, and her craft's significance was immediately evident. As a female carver in Nigeria, she not only inspires but also sparks crucial conversations about diversity and the role of women in what may seem like a predominantly male domain.

Adebisi brought a breath of fresh air to the 2022 edition of the Amiaf Art Festival, captivating the audience with her live carving skills. Since then, she has carved a niche for herself in her own sculptor's odyssey.

                                                  Abstract Art Series, Chaos and Confusion  It has been, one horrible weekend in Paris, one of my favorite cities and one of the worlds best travel destinations. This art series is inspired by nature and humanity around world. I have used colors to depict it 'the way I see it'.
