MAKING POSTERS WITH YOUR ART CAN INCREASE REVENUE  FOR  ARTISTS - THIS IS HOW

ARTISTS FOCUS:

Artists focus in general look for ways to monetize their art so that it helps their bottom line. The exhibitions come and go, the commissions might come or may not that is why as artists we continue to work so that we have enough art to take care of all avenues, we hope to make money from.

In my somewhat 28 yrs of being a professional artist and a dealer, putting my artworks out there has been both challenging and rewarding at the same.

There are a lot more avenues now that artists can use to monetize their artwork, being an Artists now couldn't be more rewarding as the internet evolves and makes art selling a lot easier.

ARTISTS OPPORTUNITIES

The opportunities out there for the artists are huge and tremendous that we are spoiled for choice as to which platform to use. I use Zazzle, so I can recommend it.

The offerings on these platforms, takes away the headaches of reaching out to potential collectors and creating awareness with a business around our artworks, that in turn helps we the artists to continue creating art.

 WAY TO MONETIZE

A simple way to monetize our artworks is making Posters, art is expensive to create but it is also difficult to sell.

Today anything can be referred to as art, we see that daily.... remember the 'famous banana episode'  last year in the Miami Basel art fair.... that should be a lesson to artists that art is what a collector says it is, not what the artists knows it is.

Bottom line we need collectors and them buying our artworks, is all that matters regardless of our views, subjects, medium or material.

From a personal experience I would say style and provocation might be a selling point, that is why artists like myself explore every avenue available to get our works out there and create a collectors base, that cuts across all ages and mind set.

I sell my simple art, mostly flower illustrations and some abstracts paintings as posters on popular Print on demand sites like zazzle .

MY EXPERIENCE

My experience with online platforms started in 2014 and so far it has been good though, not without a lot of hard work with a lot of push and Posters for me has been part of that success.

Not everyone that sees your art can afford the price of an original artwork, they love it and can't buy it even when you make limited edition prints, which are equally expensive.

We as Artists, need to look at the gap and make something for those collectors, who love what we do and are willing to pay for downloads or posters of our artwork.

ATTRACTING COLLECTORS

There are collectors out there, who collect posters, some might be galleries, resellers or even decorators and these platforms makes it easier for them to connect with unknown Artists and see new and different Art.

These are some of the reasons that art selling platforms like Zazzle and others exist, they help Artists attract new buyers and collectors at practically no cost!

They take care of that need by connecting your artworks to those collectors who need what you do at a lower price and at no cost to you the artist.

EXPOSURE & REVENUE

-These Posters bring revenue

-The Print on Demand sites, provide exposure and puts our artworks out there.

- Making these Art Posters creates an entrepreneurial feel around who you are and what you do.

-Collectors take us more seriously when they understand we are more than just artists, and that we are also making products, and building a brand around our Artwork and this impression sometimes opens more doors.

REFERRAL & LISTING

Finally apart from the Artists websites, these Print on demand platforms also act as online referral portfolios, for our artworks because we are listed in them.

YOU CAN CHECK THESE SITES OUT AND SELL

Etsy

SOCIAL SHARING

We as artists all have those paintings, sketches that we have in our private folios, that we muse over sometimes, turning these artworks into posters is an idea worth looking at.

Research sites online and check what is the best fit for your work and and see how it goes from there.

                      BUY ART PRINTS HERE

Make sure you have all your social media platforms ready.

You will need to share your artworks, on your social media platforms that means being present in our social media and sharing our artworks with our followers always helps with the publicity and revenue.

FINALLY

-Research on the Internet about Print on demand sites. Check out Art blogs like
Abundant Artistsfor Ideas and ways to sell Art.

-Look for sites to register as a seller, read and acknowledge the rules and guidelines of the platform, upload your work, start sharing and telling people about your selling site and leave the rest to your followers to respond.

Sometimes, not even your followers buy from you, people unknown to you from different parts of the world, just surfing the internet are most likely to buy, and are grateful you shared your art at a price they can afford....Enjoy!

It was an ordinary afternoon in my art gallery when he walked in, turning it into a moment I'll never forget.  My staff had informed me the day before that Richard had traveled all the way from Ibadan a really far state in western Nigeria to my state in Southern Nigeria, to meet me after someone recommended my gallery.  Artist Richard Dickson Although asked to leave his works behind to avoid carrying them around, Richard made a lasting impression even before we met.
