Art is the way I see it!  created with any medium or material in hand to me. Creativity for me is about discovery, being on a journey of exploring new ideas in a way that speaks truth to who you are.

Some people say I create sympathetic Art, I wonder what that means, I hope to find that meaning one day when I'm less busy.....hmm.

Others, say I create Art that is nostalgic, also educational and creates an atmosphere of 'I can make it also spirit', I love that.

And then there are others, who say my Art is a bit confusing but the colors are absolutely joyous!

What can I say to all these remarks?, what I always say to anyone who asks about my 'complicated Art style' is this, Art to me is the way I see it, from within me, created on any object at hand in any medium I think, suits my vision regardless of what is trending or correct.

Instead, I chose to create that which I observe, in the way I understand and know it best. To convey an idea, event, humanity, and nature, telling a story and educating along the way.

I add my imagination to my truth and use it to create my observation of a person, place or event in the way it is processed in my mind. That way, I  interpret my vision in its purest and fullest.

The objects or materials I use to create Art leans on the fact that Art, can be made out of nothing and does not have to cost a fortune, to create.

Instead, Art should Encourage, Inspire and Educate all, along the way. Creating awareness, imagination, dialog, and entertainment all locked in one.

The biggest inspiration for my Art is drawn from humanity and the diversity, that colors us all.

It is fascinating, to watch people and their reactions or just admire people in general regardless of race or ethnicity.

I love that! and my Art expresses that also. I am very fascinated, with how people from different cultures and races look and react to the same topics and events.

I just love to observe humanity and people paintings, forms 75% of my Art and creative process.

Humanity is a gift, one that should be respected and cherished, we should be curious enough to want to know about others, their cultures and beliefs, to not condemn and look down on people that are different.

For me instead, I find out about people, and observe reactions and expressions of others.

Indeed not surprising, you will find out, that we are all the same in reactions and expressions, when familiar or similar events occur in our presence.

All these purposed observations, is why I create Art the way I do, because the bottom line is, if the Art I create, resonates pleasantly with an audience, it does not matter the race, creed, religion or ethnicity, the reaction and expression would all be the same,
😄😄......Enjoy.

Meet Medical Dr Lydia Okon a Visual Artist Discover the transformative art of Dr. Lydia Okon , a Nigerian medical doctor and multidisciplinary creative whose intricate quilling and digital storytelling explore themes of resilience, serenity, and healing through art . It all began at the Novus Art Exhibition , where I was first introduced to Lydia. From the moment we started talking, I could sense an energy about her, a quiet yet powerful mix of passion and purpose. She eagerly pulled out her phone, scrolling through photos of her artwork , each piece more striking than the last. Her excitement was contagious; her eyes lit up with every image she shared, as though each creation carried a part of her soul. At that moment, Lydia felt every inch the visual creative confident, expressive, and deeply connected to her art.
