STATEMENT FROM LIGHTTHEMUSIC.COM

Howdy! 2 things: 1 - Virtual learning is a massive challenge for educators, students, parents... (heck life is a challenge right now, can I get an Amen?) So this is just an opportunity to say a simple, enormous THANKS to all the teachers, students, and parents who are hanging in there, sticking with it, and finding ways to make it better. (And there are glimmers of hope, like this video chock full of student creativity!) 2 - At Light The Music, we've built a new way to help educators teach music: collaboratively despite virtual classes, and creatively because bands/orchestras/choruses are on hold right now.

And it works! We're super excited that teachers in Stafford County Schools and Chesterfield County Public Schools are empowering their students to connect, and to create and share music with our platform.

This is fun, student directed, imaginative, leaning, that students are saying is the best part of their school day! This video, is just a small glimpse of the enormous amount of creativity that we're privileged to see students engaged in!

The video highlights student work from our "Make Something" activity, when students in their virtual bands enter the virtual (Soundtrap) studio for the first time, and go crazy on the tools to compose and record anything at all, inspired by abstract art, and the support of their peers. Shout out to Miabo Enyadike, whose art 'Chaos and Confusion' is the inspiration for these students' sound collages. You can learn more about her Art here

As an abstract artist who finds immense joy in creating these pieces, I define it as the use of colors, shapes, and objects to narrate stories about people, places, or emotions. It’s a world of limitless possibilities, where the artist’s imagination becomes the viewer’s playground. 12 Reasons Why We Love Abstract Art. Abstract art has a way of captivating us. It’s not always about understanding it but about feeling it. Here are 12 reasons why we need more abstract art out there: 1. The Audacity of Artists: Abstract artists dare to tell stories in ways only they understand. Artists Staying True To Your Art Style | Artmiabo

Artists Staying True To Your Art Style STAYING TRUE TO YOUR ART STYLE What is Your Art Style? The Artist, especially the fine Artist is one that communicates their raw and true emotions through their work.   The talent that is birth through these kinds of emotions from the Artist, is the Artwork we see them create time after time, giving it relevance regardless of their personal social status. This for me is the definition of the Art style of an Artist .  Consistency is key as well as fluidity, an ability to play with all mediums and still be recognizable is the defining factor of an Artist with their own style.                    Your Art style is not a trend but one that is given to the Artist as a personal vision and its instructed from within so much that even the Artist cannot really explain how or run away from it  but can only translate this vision into reality.     ...

Expressionist Abstract Art of Women by Miabo Enyadike

Expressionist Abstract Art of Women  Drawing women and their expressions is something, I am truly interested in. Female profiles and faces in abstract is intriguing and Ink drawings, are a way for me to throw that notion out there, of a female portrait created differently.  This is something that is important to me as a woman artist, this matters.                                                                                                                 I draw faces in a way that is uncomplicated  and easy to read, in a rather caricature way though not comical, with ink, it is easy to let the colors flow so that they create for me, the facial contours and structure.  My emphasis...
