Q & A
  • Brief info about who you are and what you do.
My name is Miabo Enyadike. I am a top International artist, the founder of ArtMiabo (since 1992). My unique Art style is to work with different mediums, to create art and craft from simple objects which is collected by patrons all over the world.
Miabo was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State Nigeria in West Africa. I have a Bachelors (honors) degree in fine & applied arts since 1992.
  • What’s your favorite piece of work that you have created? (Including a photo would be great!)
There are several fantastic favorite pieces of my work all through the years. Right now I’m loving my repurposed mattress spring art.

  • Do you have a favorite artist? If yes, what draws you to that person’s work?
Pablo Picasso is my favorite, he truly was a very versatile artist, that has inspired not only me but others.
  • Can you remember one of the first things you drew/sculpted/painted/photographed etc.? What makes it memorable?
My first art, well that’s a bit difficult, maybe my first still life pencil drawing, in secondary school 30 odd years ago. It was memorable because my drawing was terrible!
  • What are you working on at the moment?
At the moment I’m working on several recycling projects and they are all exciting.
  • Where do you gather most of the inspiration for your works?
I get inspired by events around me, especially books and craft shows.
  • What are your goals for the future, both work wise and life?
My goal for the future is simply to create more awareness, for the need to incorporate arts and crafts, more as a lifestyle rather than as a subject so that people are empowered to create wealth out of nothing.
  • What are you doing when you’re not creating? What (other) hobbies do you have or maybe a fun story about an experience involving your artwork?
I love reading and travelling.
  • What, in your opinion, is the hardest step in creating a masterpiece?
Creating a masterpiece sometimes is by accident, nevertheless there is always a thought process behind every master piece, once you get that right, it controls the creative process.
  • What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I am a twin, people are always surprised.
  • Do you have any tips or inspiring words for others?
My words of inspiration for people, is simply be yourself! The task, that comes so easily and creatively, to you from within is definitely your gift, take it, explore it and run with it.
  • And finally, I would like to give you this opportunity to share two to four images and tell us a little about each.

These are pine cones that fall from whistling pine trees re-purposed into a decor pieces.

One very essential thing I love from what Miabo mentioned is in her goal for the future which she said;
My goal for the future is simply to create more awareness, for the need to incorporate arts and crafts, more as a lifestyle rather than as a subject so that people are empowered to create wealth out of nothing
Key phrase “people are empowered to create wealth out of nothing”. I think for me this is so priceless. God has given each one of us a gift, you just need to realize it, and when you do, you need to actualize it. Some also need to be empowered!
Thanks Mrs Miabo Enyadike for participating in Bellafricana’s Exclusive Interviews! We hope you will be able to achieve these goals and empower as many people as possible. Keep up the great work.

Several Ways to Promote Your Art Online and Offline by Artmiabo

Several Ways to Promote Your Art  Art is truly in the eyes of the beholder, who love what they see immediately, but the purchasing of the Art is a different ball game.  People tend to make a decision to buy your art after several views that is the way it works.   For some fewer views and they buy, while others several views before a collector makes a purchase.             Abstract Flower Painting, Wall Art,  by Miabo Enyadike The reason for these disparities is sometimes, name recognition could prompt a quick purchase or good presentation of your Art could be a factor.  While on the other hand poor presentation, costing, need, and relevance could lead to delays.  The issues here are relative, there is no quick magic to sell your art, you just have to put it out there for people to see and decide for themselves.  I have been fortunate to be in the Art business for over 20 years, so I have a...
