Mastering the Art of Painting a Chrysanthemum Flower: Step-by-Step Guide

 Old newspaper, laying around the house or piled up in the house is sometimes distressing, specially if it is turning into a nightmare.

 I know once a week the paper recycling truck arrives to collect paper, but my natural hoarding instincts, refuses to let go!.

  In my mind I'm thinking, I can use this pile for something I mean something, really.... really good and I ask myself  WHAT and WHEN?.

 Well that time finally came, I thought about creating a series of mixed media paintings,with newspaper using acrylic paint.
Blue flower Art


I chose a blue flower as my subject, I may not be a keen gardener, I just love flowers and how they bloom and color our lives.

  Besides that, my garden and that of my neighbors are filled with flowers, all popping different colors.

 I love the blue because it looks out of place, amongst red, white, yellow and the greens.

 HOW I MADE MY BLUE FLOWER ART.......
I created this Art by drawing the shapes of the petals on old newspaper, cutting out the drawing and gluing it to a wood board.

  I proceeded to paint the flower with blue acrylic and the background wine red to give the painting some depth so the flower pops. I sealed  my art with acrylic varnish

Now,when I see the paper recycling truck passing by my house, I smile and wave wondering what would have happened, if I had let my old newspapers go hmm.........

  Abstract Art Paintings: Colors of Emotions Series  This Abstract Art Series is based on color coded emotions. Emotions are feelings within us that we project outside, sometimes the turmoil we feel within us or the joy and happiness can be interpreted to mean a dark mood, red hot, happiness, sadness and more.  I created this art at a time the mood around the world was filled with mixed emotions, turmoil, confusion and anger due to COVID-19.  Art for me was a kind of escape and a way to translate how people felt, locked up and confused emotionally.
