The Artistic Journey of Dr. Bolaji Ogunwo

Born in 1978, Dr. Bolaji Ogunwo has built an impressive career in both art practice and academia. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Fine & Applied Art from the University of Benin, Edo State, in 2000, specializing in painting. His quest for artistic excellence led him to earn a Master’s degree from the University of Lagos (2006) and a Ph.D. in Painting from Delta State University, Abraka (2020). With over 60 local and international exhibitions and 8 solo exhibitions—five in Nigeria, two in the United Kingdom, and one in the United States—Dr. Ogunwo’s work has captivated audiences and is housed in prestigious art collections worldwide.

A Legacy of Teaching & Artistic Mentorship

Dr. Ogunwo is currently a Painting Lecturer at the Department of Creative Arts, University of Lagos, Akoka, Nigeria, where he has nurtured the next generation of artists. Faith, Family, and Art: The Man Behind the Masterpieces Beyond his artistic and academic pursuits, Dr. Ogunwo is a Senior Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). He is a man of faith, balancing his career with his responsibilities as a husband to Olufunmilayo Ogunwo and a devoted father to two sons, Oluwanifemi and Oluwadarasimi. His ability to seamlessly integrate art, education, and spirituality makes him a unique voice in the world of visual arts.
