  Master Sculptor and Art Educationist, Adeola Balogun Celebrated at this Years Amiaf Artfestival. Dr. Adeola Balogun combines a fully engaged studio practice with a teaching career at Nigeria's premier tertiary institution, The Yaba College of Technology. He graduated from Yaba College of Technology, with a specialization in sculpture (1993/94) and Masters in Fine Art (MFA, Sculpture) at the University of Benin (2001/4), Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. He had his Ph.D. in Sculpture (Studio) at Delta State University, Abraka, Delta State. Balogun’s brilliance as an artist transcends the core medium of sculpture on which he has built a reputation but also traverses other regions of the visual arts.   Celebrating the 'Woodpecker' Pius Waritimi, AMIAF 2024 Awardee Once Again Congratulations to Pius Waritimi On this award as 'The Master Carver of the Niger Delta' aka The Esteemed Woodpecker! In its third edition, Artmiabo International Art Festival Amiaf Artfestival 2024 is showcasing specific sculpture mediums as well as celebrating select artists with awards. One of the awardees, Pius Waritimi, a wood sculptor and academic, who is also showing at AMIAF 2024, spoke about the event, challenges of sculptors, and future of the medium.   Wood Sculptor Adebisi Adebayo,  AMIAF'S 2024 Awardee Introducing Wood Sculptor Adebisi Adebayo,  An AMIAF'S 2024 Awardee Ms Adebisi Adebayo : A wood sculptor, Adebisi came to our attention through Facebook, and her craft's significance was immediately evident. As a female carver in Nigeria, she not only inspires but also sparks crucial conversations about diversity and the role of women in what may seem like a predominantly male domain. Adebisi brought a breath of fresh air to the 2022 edition of the Amiaf Art Festival, captivating the audience with her live carving skills.
