last month while cleaning my Art studio, I discovered a "Sound of Music" movie dvd, I bought  for my kids a long time ago.  It was nostalgic, looking at the dvd cover with Maria on it. I decided to watch it later, again for the 100th time.    Anyway, the thought of using the flowery green curtains, to create a line of play clothes for the captains kids was genius!. Just imagine the foresight, and the design been thought out by maria, for each child. What about the fittings, sizes, measurement, pattern and easy to wear, for all those children.  It was fantastic!. The play clothes fashion highlight, for me was the little Pinafore shorts, made for one of the boys how hilarious and well thought out.  Then I had my "Aha moment".  I thought to myself, I should create an inspired version.  I decided to use all the flowery, curtain fabric off cuts, I have and just have fun with ...

We just celebrated father's day, last Sunday and everywhere had signs or display, saluting fathers.  The social media was buzzing with all of us trying to outdo each other, with greetings and outpouring of love, to all the fathers we know out there. It was indeed wonderful and fathers felt loved. The restaurant,  we were  having fathers  day lunch was packed with families and there they were, all the fathers. Recently, I was offered a huge pile of leather cut offs by the upholstery store down the road around the area I live.  Its not that I'm a big customer, but  I am a friend of the business and their regular, leather stalker. I keep an eagle eye on their leather scraps. They know, that I would take whatever, I am given with gratitude and appreciation, so the stalking became legal.  When I was given, this huge pile I immediately went into creative mode in my mind. Coming up with  craft ideas, I could use these cut offs for.  Then it occurred to me, that I could actually create art, with it.  Something different, simple but abstract. I decided to create, sculpted newspapers as the base, to apply my leather cut offs on.  Each telling a story, that is different but are all similar, because of the leather and the colors I chose to paint them. The inspiration for these Art comes from cows. ...

African Bead Design Collection   Jewelry making is a craft I enjoy and it helps me financially too. Bead making can also serve a revenue stream and a small business that can grow into something big. I enjoy jewelry making because it allows me to be more creative and daring. The cool thing about making jewelry, is there are no rules,   any cool object or material could be used and that's fabulous.  Most of the jewelry, I make are beads and I make them,   for the purpose of Art not really to be worn.   I enjoy mounting them, on mannequins as display and sell them as art.
