Modern Art | Artist Color Palette by Miabo Enyadike

Modern Art | Artists Color Palette   ARTIST COLOR PALETTE  -  I love vibrant colors, I really do not tint my colors when I'm painting.I paint directly without thinning with water or turpentine. I rarely tone down my colors, I just love them bright.                                                        TULIPS IN A VASE BY MIABO ENYADIKE Since most of my Art is Ink based, I try to maintain the rich tone of the ink and that is the reason I create Art on paper boards, that are slightly glossy and smooth. The richness of the colors and the smooth ivory background that is signature to my work,  gives my Art a very polished photo look.                                           Dress by Miabo Enyadike ...

Emerging Artist Stepheney Kun Artist blog by Miabo Enyadike

Emerging Artist Stepheney Kun                    Art  is  dynamic, fluid and interpreted in ways unimagined, except by the creator of the Art. Those were my exact thoughts, when I was introduced to Stepheney Kun's Stone art.  Amazed was an understatement, it was more like blown away. Don't  get  me wrong I have seen my fair share of awesome art. Her art is  true to her personality and just exudes her heart. It is not pretentious.  As I sat down with Stepheney, I understood immediately that she was passionate about her craft and  her art spoke true to how she feels, her emotions about nature and it's beauty.  Steph was truly inspiring as we delved into different life issues, and I just listened with awe and wonder at how carefree and free-spirited, she is and you can see that in her art.  The fact that She creates a world of fantasy on Ston...

Contemporary African Artist Sculptor Segun Okewumi by Miabo Enyadike

My blog today, is profiling a young artist, barely in his twenties whose work I have come to love and respect. I met this young fellow in one of my workshops for Artist and since then I have followed his work. The kind of sculptures he produces are fresh, innovative and fascinating to look at.  The subject matter he interpretes, in his work is expressive and deals with everyday events, that include humanity and culture and those are issues that matter to me, that is why I am a huge fan of his work.  Segun, is innovative in his sculpture pieces, it is easy to see what inspires this young and emerging Artist, he is inspired by his mum, women, and experiences in his society as well as metal objects. His use of nuts and bolts, mixed with metal objects to tell a story through sculpture, is an inspiration in itself. Segun, has been involved in several exhibitions, showing his works to an audience that truly appreciates, his narrative about the society he ...

Vintage lace Mini Wreaths by Miabo Enyadike

Vintage lace Mini Wreaths   It is no secret, to close friends and family that I love to collect their lace fabrics, to use for Art and craft.  I am a fine and applied Artist, who is so in love with applying objects and fabric to my Art and craft and lace, I use for it's texture and delicate look and feel.    Lately lace, has come into play in my Art and I love that but this blog, is about shabby chic which we know is a lacy affair.  I created these lace flower hangings, with plastic embroidery loops, that can be hung in a home with shabby chic interiors and accessories.  Black and Red lace may not be the favorite color of lace for shabby chic decor, I beg to differ because I see color and would love, to bend the rules to add a splash of color here and there to an all white, cream and beige, accessories in a shabby chic theme. I'm still working on this proj...

How to transform plain baskets by Miabo Enyadike

How to transform plain baskets                    Whenever I travel back to my home country Nigeria, it is always a fabulous experience! I connect with family, childhood friends, delicious home food and most of all the diverse indigenous Art and Craft spread across different cultures that make up Nigeria.  Vintage Decor Basket I am always pleasantly surprised by the local craft industry and their effort and consistency in keeping their craft authentic and deep in culture.  My last trip to Nigeria was a bit different, I was in a Solo Art Exhibition with little  or no time for any rampaging  through the Art and Craft Markets. Vintage Decor Basket   It was a bit difficult for me to move around, since I had...
