About Steve Ekpenisi – Nigerian Sculptor Extraordinaire Born on August 13, 1978, in Abavo, Delta State, Steve Ekpenisi has transformed his lifelong passion into one of Nigeria’s most compelling sculptural voices.

A proud graduate of Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, where he clinched the Overall Best Student Prize with distinction in Sculpture (2008), Steve's mastery lies in figurative, imaginative, and semi-abstract metal sculptures that push creative boundaries. From an early age, his artistic curiosity was evident—often to his parents’ dismay—as he disassembled household gadgets to explore form and structure. Today, that raw passion fuels his signature works crafted from mild steel, stainless steel, brass, scrap metal, and rods, celebrating African identity, tradition, and socio-economic narratives. With a stature that contrasts sharply with the monumental energy of his work, Steve is affectionately known as “Small Body, Big Engine.” His studio process is a performance of sparks and sound, where metal surrenders to his vision and storytelling.

                                                  Abstract Art Series, Chaos and Confusion  It has been, one horrible weekend in Paris, one of my favorite cities and one of the worlds best travel destinations. This art series is inspired by nature and humanity around world. I have used colors to depict it 'the way I see it'.
