AMIAF Art Festivals

Artmiabo International Art Festival Logo

Introduction to Artmiabo International Art Festival (AMIAF) Artmiabo International Art Festival (AMIAF) is not just another art event; it is a celebration of creativity, culture, and sustainability that brings artists, art lovers, and cultural enthusiasts from around the world together.

What sets AMIAF apart from other art festivals is its commitment to showcasing diverse, innovative art forms while promoting eco-consciousness and sustainability in the art industry.

Founded by Miabo Enyadike, a renowned Nigerian artist and art curator, AMIAF was born out of the desire to create a platform where both emerging and established artists could exhibit their work in a global setting.

The festival provides a unique opportunity for artists to not only showcase their creativity but also engage in cultural exchange, build networks, and gain exposure in the global art market. One of the core elements of AMIAF is its focus on eco-friendly art practices.

In a world increasingly affected by environmental issues, this festival champions the use of sustainable materials, recycling, and innovative techniques to create art that not only speaks to the soul but also respects the planet.

Through this, AMIAF encourages artists to think outside the box and incorporate elements of environmental consciousness into their work, which makes the festival stand out as a pioneer of eco-art advocacy.

Furthermore, AMIAF’s inclusion of art workshops, panel discussions, and interactive sessions allows participants to explore the intersection of art, society, and environmental responsibility.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist, an art collector, or simply a lover of creativity, the festival offers an immersive experience that blends visual beauty with meaningful dialogue on how art can influence and reflect societal issues.

In essence, the Artmiabo International Art Festival is a vibrant, culturally rich event that serves as a beacon of creativity, environmental stewardship, and international collaboration—making it truly unique in the global art scene.

AMIAF is dedicated to fostering creativity, promoting cultural exchange, and providing a platform for emerging and established artists to share their work with a global audience. The festivals objective is simply to represent the 'unrepresented artists', giving them a platform to display and showcase their creativity and introducing them to possible recognitions, art buyers and collectors.

Through a very targeted marketing strategy Artmiabo aims to position the Artmiabo International Art Festival as a recognised international art event.

Join us at AMIAF to experience the transformative power of art and connect with the creative pulse of the world.

This festival Open call invites only sculptors from everywhere to apply

Date: 27th April-1st May, 2024

Location: Ebonylife Place, Victoria Island, Lagos State, Nigeria.

Festival Theme: Sculptor's Odyssey

Email Submission to: artexhibition@artmiabo.info

Exhibition Inspiration:

In the realm of sculptural artistry, where stone, metal, and wood are the raw materials of our creative voyage, artmiabo international art festival, 2024, (Amiaf) embarks upon a journey known as the "Sculptor's Odyssey." This artistic odyssey is not merely a physical expedition but a profound exploration of the human spirit, nature, and the limitless bounds of imagination.

Like Odysseus navigating through treacherous waters, all, sculptors, navigate through the depths of their minds, seeking to unearth the stories hidden within each medium they touch. Every chisel stroke, every molten pour, and every carving is a testament to their unwavering commitment to craft and storytelling. It is AMIAF'S hope that through this artistic endeavor, we can convey the emotions, narratives, and visions that have taken root in the recesses of their consciousness.

The act of sculpting is an intimate dialogue between the artist and the material. It is a dance between control and surrender, as they mold, shape, and coax the raw substance into forms that reflect their innermost thoughts and feelings. With each piece, they strive to capture the essence of humanity—the beauty and complexity of existence, the triumphs and tribulations of our shared journey.

The Sculptor's Odyssey is not bound by time or place. It draws inspiration from the echoes of the past, the vibrancy of the present, and the enigma of the future. It is an expedition that transcends cultural, geographical, and temporal boundaries, seeking to create a universal language that resonates with all who encounter their work.

As they embark on this odyssey, Artmiabo International Art Festival 2024, invites you, the viewer, to join us on this voyage of discovery. Together, we will traverse the landscapes of the mind, where imagination knows no bounds, and where the art of sculpting becomes a testament to the enduring human spirit. Through their sculptures, the festival in 2024 aspires to ignite a sense of wonder, provoke contemplation, and elicit emotions that connect us all on this shared odyssey of life.

Understanding Abstract Art | Artmiabo

Understanding Abstract Art                                 The secret essence of abstract art is to have an open mind toward art that appears distorted and different.  Abstract Art creates, a kind of curiosity and a sense of wonder around the artist. Typically, one is always intrigued, when they view an abstract painting or Art in general. Heavenly Beings Abstract Art | Miabo Enyadike The difference with abstract art is the 'How &Why' and 'Whaaat the F....?!  question. Artists are known to create these kind of art that makes the audience curious and drawn into a conversation and narrative that directly affects their core as human beings. These abstract art that we view are made to question norms and they are created in different forms. They could be art installations, paintings, sculpture, dance movement, poetry or even storytelling, all expressed in a way that turns an obvious issue or...

Contemporary Abstract Expressionism Art Colors and Lines                                        COLORS, RAINBOW 2 BY MIABO ENYADIKE Imagine life without color, I have tried too, but I have found it so impossible to envisage. The simple reason, is every where we turn there are colors, tones, hues and lines in such harmony.   COLORS AND LINES, GREEN AND RED by MIABO ENYADIKE That was the root, for this series I have just painted.                                                  COLORS, RAINBOW 1 BY MIABO ENYADIKE The title is colors and lines, in which I decided to explore the use of  colors, creating tones and shades, using bold curvy lines to emphasis a synergy between  the two.               ...

'Houses in a Snow Blizzard' Art Print The weather news report coming from abroad is really fascinating and one that is indeed amazing.  As we watch the cable news and see the snow blizzards, being described with terms like "cyclone bomb", "Hurricane snow winds", Snow blizzard and freezing temperatures of -17 degrees, we really wonder how people are coping and all the havoc this might cause going forward  Houses in Snow Blizzard  Modern Abstract Art Print Ink, Spray Paint, Oil Markers Price:$60 Size: A3 by Miabo Enyadike, 2015-2020 Pay Here: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/XHRLRSJ5G28XN I really appreciate the fact that in Johannesburg where I live,it is summer right now with the weather in between rain and heat. Modern Abstract Art Silhouettes to view | Miabo Enyadike

Modern Abstract Art Silhouettes to view   I enjoy painting abstract art silhouettes especially faces. The simple reason is I can manipulate the profile of an individual, with several layers of color. Color for me is an integral part of my art aesthetics I allow color to lead my creative process in the way I see the art I am about to create.            Silhouette of a woman; Abstract Art; by miabo enyadike. My Abstract Art this week is all about using colors to create a simple silhouette, of a woman and a man. When I decided to create this particular abstract painting, it was more of emphasis on color than on the human profile. I wanted to see what the outcome of the creative process would look like.  Also to see if and when the human features are covered in colors, other than our natural colors would this Art evoke any emotions?... that simply belies the fact, that color seems to be one the many problems we have in our so...

Abstract Art Faces Ideas to View Now | By Miabo Enyadike

Abstract Art Faces Ideas to View Now Indigo Blue color is a color tone, I have come to know and love. This color was huge in the late seventies, in my home country of Nigeria. It is a  blue color, I remember vividly that was used on fabrics to create what we know as Adire(Tie dye) pronounced Ah-d-rear.               FACES IN BLUE ABSTRACT PAINTING BLOG The Inspiration for this series is drawn from the blue tye-dye fabric in my home country, where different shades and tones of blue are applied on white cotton through natural dyes to create a traditional textile design called Adire.  This used to be an ancient textile Art of dying pure cotton fabric for days in a dye pit dug in the ground, using natural elements that create this awesome blue hue, and this method of traditional dyeing is still used till this very day. In my early childhood in Nigeria, early seventies, everywhere you turned at that time or era everyone had an A...

My Art Weekend Project with Clipboards by Miabo Enyadike

Abstract art on clipboards                                       My weekend, was one I spent lazing around in my pjs, eating  flatbread and hummus.  Sounds crazy or weird but for me, it was fun and a bit out of the norm.  The weird part, was not the choice of food or being in my PJ's all day, but the brief I got from a client who commissioned me to create abstract Art on clipboards for him 10 days ago.                                 Well, I have done decoupage on clipboards but actual painting no.  Not only was I not so sure, his brief was equally abstract to say the least, "just paint me anything abstract on these clipboards he said".             ...

Expressionist Abstract Art of Women by Miabo Enyadike

Expressionist Abstract Art of Women  Drawing women and their expressions is something, I am truly interested in. Female profiles and faces in abstract is intriguing and Ink drawings, are a way for me to throw that notion out there, of a female portrait created differently.  This is something that is important to me as a woman artist, this matters.                                                                                                                 I draw faces in a way that is uncomplicated  and easy to read, in a rather caricature way though not comical, with ink, it is easy to let the colors flow so that they create for me, the facial contours and structure.  My emphasis...

Creative Jeans Art Design Ideas to Inspire Your Next Art Project | Artmiabo

Creative Jeans Art Design Ideas to Inspire Your Next Art Project"                                                                       Re purposing discarded JEANS into Art My new found obsession with Jean pants is no longer centered around it being a fashion staple for me, or comfort wear but a new way of innovation.  I look at a well-worn pair of Jeans on a person or in a charity store and I see potential immediately and an even bigger creative prospect ahead.                   My friends and family know that there is more to their pair of Jeans when it is no longer in use to them for me.                                     ...

Recycled Paper Art Inspiration and Ideas By Miabo Enyadike

Art and Paper Inspiration Ideas   Craft will always be my first creative love, when my Art block comes I resort to making things, that  calm my nerves or create things that inspire me and take my mind gently back to art.                                                                               This time around I decided to work with Paper to create accessories and art that is appealing but inexpensive.  That would serve as both decor items and handmade gifts.                       Paper can be manipulated easily, it really does not pose any challenge just cut and paste.      I decided to drop by the craft store and pick up objects of interes...
